A 100 MB hard disk evolved into a 1 Gigabyte hard disk. People wondered if it could possibly be reliable. And while they wondered, computer stores started selling 10 Gigabyte hard disks. People blinked and the hard disks were 100 Gigabytes.

While the capacity of the hard disk increased, the size of the outside hardware began to get smaller and smaller, and before long – there it is, sitting in the palm of your hand! The flexibility of the hardware opens the door to thousands of various software applications: now, instead of using the keyboard to punch in letters, one can just talk to a computer and it will record what was said. Modern e-mail delights people of all ages as they communicate in seconds around the world. And, computers can also read your e-mail back to you in the language of your choice.

I have 3 hard drives, 2 are internal, and 1is external hooked up via USB cable. I know i can unhook the USB cable etc. But if i was to catch a virus can it travel to my other hard drive?? Nobody is immune…We all are slaves to electronic devices. Most of the time we have drawers full of gadgets gadgets that we don’t even need any more. We dig around those drawers and shelves in search for a “still good” battery for yet another, this time new toy that we just bought 2 days ago. It will give us joy for months to come. Maybe. Usually its a few days later that a better, new model is out and we somehow just have to get it.
When cell phones hit the market, they were so expensive that it was a decision that had to be made with the family members…We got the one model that was in mid price range. Even that was more money then anyone would happily spend. Well, after 3 years we ended up having several cell phones in that knick-knack drawer. Some were really scratched, some missing a battery cover and some were still really in great shape – but “old”. Time for a new one…

There are a few mp3 players, Flash Drives, portable phone dialers, portable AM-FM radios, some worked on solar power…We keep on forgetting to take them all to that place where you can leave them to be recycled.
