Install a PCI Wireless Internet Card in 10 Easy Steps

Installing a PCI wireless card might seem like a bit of an adventure — after all, you have to open the case, find where to put the thing, close it again… and then you have to deal with the software! But even if you’ve never opened your computer case before you shouldn’t have too much trouble with this simple task, if you follow the 10 steps I give in this article.

Step 1: Look through the Manual. Yes, I know it seems like a dull thing to do, but you really need to at least skim the manual for certain things, such as when to install software. If you are going to be adding a new component to your computer, you should at least read over the installation guide in your manual. It’s much better, to take the time to read it now, than to realize after spending the time on a full install, that you missed an essential step in the installation. A few cards, for example, require you to install the software before installing the card — do this now if you need to.
