Speed Up Your Internet Connection

Apr-28th-2009

Windows XP reserves 20% of network bandwidth for high priority network data or packets, but for home users, this can be changed to 0%, resulting in a faster network and internet connection. You can view a larger sized video – 640X480 – on my website: www.HotButteredIT.com. They are currently free. Enjoy!

You likely have XP Home edition and not XP Professional. Sorry, but you cannot change this setting if you have XP Home.

  24. crashoppe Said,

it would turn a 10 day download down to 8 days. impressive if you ask me, for such a simple tweek.

  25. crashoppe Said,

awesome, i gained almost 40% with a few other tweeks. was in the middle of down loading a 13G file. it took my estimated time from 7 days down to 4 days the moment i clicked apply. 2G proc, IDE HD, slowest DSL connection available thru my ISP.
