The IMC (integrated marketing Communications) approach consists of five elements; Advertising, Direct Marketing, Sales promotion, Public relations and Miscellaneous. The objective of the integrated approach to marketing communications is to ensure all of the communications mix are coordinated with the marketing strategy, delivering the same underlying positioning, and value proposition to the target segment. Advertising
Advertising is defined as any paid form of nonpersonal communication about an organization, product, service, or idea by an identified sponsor. Advertising has several important advantages over other elements in the communications mix. It provides control over what you can so to the consumer about you goods or service.
For our Patch Management product we will need to advertise in the following manner. Because we are trying to grab the attention of the network administrator, we will be more focused on the magazines, internet and AD words that these individuals will most likely utilize. For example we will use ad word on the internet through Google which will reach a good portion of network administrators because they spend a lot of there time on the internet. We can utilize print magazines such as Windows IT Magazine, and even offer a promotion like a free t-shirt. I t makes a way for Buy Software
Direct Marketing
Direct Marketing is any communication form that sends messages directly to a target market with the anticipation of an immediate or short term response. There are many ways to do this. You utilize telemarketing, Direct mailing, or Email lists.
We are going to do all three. We have gathered over a time of potential customers that fit into our 1000+ client demographic and are going to send them either an e-mail, post card or make direct contact through telemarketing. The position we are going to take is going to be more towards security and we will explain why Patch management is going to provide security to there environment. From our research security and auditing are two hot key point s we want to present our demographic for this product. By providing auditing we also give them the added ability to provide reports to comply with there HIPAA or SOX compliancy guidelines.
Sales Promotion
Sales promotion involves communication activities that provide extra incentives to the consumer to look at your product. We can also provide incentives to the channel partners in order for them to sell our product.
As explained earlier one of the promotions we can provide the end user is a free t-shirt for contacting us. We can also give out other tech oriented things like I-pods. If little things are going to close the sale, the $300 for the I-pod is well worth it if the return is ten times that. As far as negotiating with the channel we can provide them a larger margin so they will have incentive to sell our product because it is also generating the a better profit.
