    That’s not right – Windows 7 comes with XP mode, so yes, programs that only work for XP will work for Windows 7 Professional edition.

    Windows 7 is built on Vista so software that only works on Windows Xp and not Vista will not work on 7, but some stuff works with the compatibilty mode. Hope this was of help.
