Face it, it’s a lot more cool to watch films in the movie house than it is to watch them at home. Sure, the theatre may have a little better sound system than what you have at home, but you’re not excessively concerned about the sound system. It’s the giant screen that makes cinemas better for watching films. Watching King Kong rip apart New York City or the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park tear around in the jungle is a lot more thrilling when they’re fifteen or twenty feet tall; it’s just not the same when they’re five or six inches tall on your little screen at home. Just like seeing a concert at home is not the same as being there in person. (more…)
Build this Simple DIY water toy For The Kiddies And It Will Be The Envy Of Your Neighborhood
My children used to bug me to take them to the lido or the park but all I wanted to do was sit in a lawn chair on my driveway with a cold beverage.
I browsed around builders depot, bought a bunch of pipes and supplies, and after several days of tinkering in the garage came up with a perfect solution to our situation: the Crazy Spray. The idea is so simple and the parts are so cheap it is hard to believe that my kids enjoy it as much as they do. Every time we put it out on the grass and turn it on, kids from all over the neighborhood run over to see if they can play too. After about the 10th parent asked me where they could get their own, I decided I had to write down and document exactly how I built it.
One of the biggest problems encountered by many parents now is keeping their kids toys tidy and methodical. Whether you be inflicted with a corner of your living opportunity devoted to toys, or an full playroom, children’s toys are often lone of the generally trying messes to clean up and keep clean.
We all aspire our kids to be inflicted with access to their toys, yet we furthermore aspire to ensure their belongings don’t take ended the household! Here are five tips to help you and your kids keep toys in their
Place.
1. Setup A System
Purchase a unadorned three or four shelf element which can call your children’s toys. Traditional toy boxes could look cute but they consistently get on to messes worse as toys solely make dumped in and over and done. A shelf will keep things more methodical and reachable. Depending on the size of your toy area and how many toys you be inflicted with, you could need more than lone shelf.
Walk into any toys store or the toy section of any department store and there are shelves and tiers of toys labeled ‘educational toys’. How does a parent or a grandparent take the finest educational toys for the kids in their lives? Will the child like it? The temptation is nearly overwhelming to buy children, especially infants, toys that reflect the interests of the giver. Parents, proudly convinced they are raising a child prodigy, create a frustrated youngster when they push the child into playing with toys outside the manufacturer’s suggested age range. Real safety hazards are presented when children are encouraged to play with toys beyond their ability to understand or handle safely.
The second rule of buying educational toys is to keep in touch with the child’s interests. Children grow and develop at rapid rates, both mentally and physically. Continually changing interests are a natural part of this development as the child explores new ideas and concepts. Play is how children learn and educational toys are tools of that play. Educational Toys Should Serve A Purpose And Stimulate The Child
When one thinks of terms such as aged rare comics, valuable comics or collectible comics, you’re generally idea of the Golden Age of Comics. Starting with Action Comics #1 in 1938 and continuing through the end of World War II, the Golden Age of Comics sets the standard for comic book collecting.
Being a Golden Age comic book collector takes patience, money and a willingness to compromise. Finding high grade copies of these comics is near impossible, causing the comic book values to skyrocket.
Strategy
As stated, your strategy to finding these comics should be: willingness to compromise. 1. Compromise: if you can’t find the specific issue, is an issue in the title enough? 2. Compromise: be willing to accept a lesser grade, high-grade is thought to find 3. Compromise: price, the Golden Age comic prices are not cheap.
There are many individuals who are buying and selling action figures and don’t want to get ripped off. The first thing is to classify your figurine. If you have the figurine’s container, this can be as easy as just reading… well… the box. I would start by hunting various Action figure websites, seeking pictures of the figure I want to value. If, for example, you have some sort of army figure, then you might look for a website dedicated to G.I. Joe figures, hoping to find yours. Hasbro provides pictures of past G.I Joe figures on their website. Many other manufacturers do the same, although finding their pages of old action figures can be difficult. Once you’ve determined what your action figure is, it’s time to determine it’s condition. You can either have your figure professionally graded by the AFA, have someone at a convention or comic shop grade it for you, or you can find a “grading guide” on the Internet so you can grade your action figure yourself. With all that information collected you can find out your action figure’s value. My first port of call is usually an action figure price guide. I then compare the guide price with what the figure is selling on auction websites such as eBay, along with any other website I can find displaying a price for my figure. By comparing these prices, you will get a rough idea of what your figurine is worth.
Star Wars was the big bang as far as film merchandising and children’s toys where concerned. The demand for the toys was so high that the manufacturers could not keep up with demand. For Christmas 1977, they sold boxed vouchers for various toys. The toys sold in the “Empty Box” campaign during December were not delivered until the following March. Now that’s demand!
As a prime candidate for star wars toys I was amazed and overjoyed to be drip fed a succession of action figures, play sets, books, comics and even duvet covers over the following years. My imagination could run riot with these extra props to help me.
I still have some of my original figures and my own kids play with them and seem to enjoy them as much as did.
