Four Free Anti-Spyware Programs You Should Consider
I have talked a lot about spyware programs that will attack your computer and slow it down in past articles. This week i would like to give you a list of the Top 4 Free Anti-Spyware programs available on the internet. Of course everyone has a different opinion when it comes to which program is the best, but most people confer that these four are at the top of their game.
The first program is also the most popular anti-spyware on the market and you may already be familiar with it. Ad-aware from Lavasoft.
Ad-Aware- is an anti-spyware program from Lavasoft that detects and removes software on a user’s computer that is determined to be spyware or adware. It also detects dialers, trojans, malware, data-mining, aggressive advertising, parasites, browser hijackers, and tracking components.
The makers of Ad-Aware, Lavasoft, also offer a paid version of Ad-Aware. The main difference between the free version and the paid version is that the paid version offers real time scanning.
The newest version of Ad-Aware, while not as good as its successor (Ad-Aware 6.0 SE), is still a great program and worth installing.

The next program, Arovax Antispyware, isn’t nearly as popular with the every day user as Ad-Aware, but I just blame that on their marketing team. Arovax ia a very powerful antispyware tool.

Spybot also includes an “Immunize” feature to block the installation of spyware before it occurs. Another tool included in Spybot is a file shredder, for the secure deletion of files.
A Tea-Timer module can be optionally enabled, which provides a level of active, real-time protection from undesirable registry changes and such; it is unusual for such a feature to be offered as part of a free anti-spyware program.

I always advise quarantining the files first to make sure that a critical system file is not deleted. If, after quarantining the files you don’t notice any problems with your operating system or any other programs, then it should be safe to delete the quarantined files.
